CASCADIA METRO VANCOUVER BRANCH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Involvement with Cascadia's Metro Vancouver Branch has the following options. Please email our volunteer committee and they will get you connected.

'Floating' Volunteer

You can float as a volunteer as needed for various committees and/or events, possibly settling into a committee member position later on.  We welcome any assistance, and volunteers can move through the branch, trying out different roles. See the Committee Descriptions page for more information.

Committee Member

You may also volunteer to be a committee member on one of the committees.

Co-chair on the Steering Committee

Steering committee involvement involves monthly meetings (with the exception of summer and December) held early on Friday mornings, as well as co-chairing a committee.

OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT CASCADIA REGION GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL

Cascadia’s Board

Board seats are allocated specifically across the three states and one province that make up Cascadia.  A total of 6 seats are allocated to each Oregon, Washington and British Columbia and 2 seats are allocated to Alaska.  To promote representation on the Board from all geographic regions and in both large and small markets, one seat from each of Oregon, Washington and British Columbia.  Only Members from these markets (based on place of employment) may stand for election to these three seats, although all Members may vote for these candidates.  The identification of small and emerging markets for each state/province is also critical to representation. Please see the Board of Directors page for the current list of Board members and watch the newsletter for Board elections.

Cascadia’s BC Office Volunteer

If you are unemployed or underemployed and can do volunteer work between the hours of 9 and 5 on working days, please consider a volunteer position in the Vancouver office. Please email our volunteer committee for more information.

Inter-Branch Liaison

If you live and or work in more than one of Cascadia’s Branch locations  then please consider being an inter-branch liaison. This will mean meeting with both branches in an ongoing way, and bringing ideas to share from each to the other. It also may mean taking the lead on an inter-branch event that brings speakers from one branch to the other.
