Sustainable Development: Integrating Urban Planning and Green Building
This three-part workshop series will explore what sustainability means to urban and regional planning and how city plans can lay the groundwork for success. Panelists with direct experience planning for sustainability will discuss the barriers and opportunities planners face when working toward sustainability, how sustainability can be defined and measured for planning projects, and what useful sustainability tools are available. Panelists will share their insights from three regional case studies illustrating a broad spectrum of sustainable planning issues – including land use, sustainability metrics, affordable housing, and eco-districts.
