Volunteer for Green Skyline!
Volunteer for Green Skyline! Volunteers get a free pass for the tours. If you are interested in being a volunteer, please email Karen.
Below is a description of the two main types of volunteer positions that are available.
On-Site Volunteers
Most volunteers will be on-site volunteers on the day. This role includes a range of activities, including:
- Registration volunteers must arrive at their designated building 30-45 minutes before their shift begins.
- Volunteers will check people in who already have tickets and/or will register those who have not yet bought a ticket.
- Answer basic questions about Cascadia and the tours, but pass on detailed questions to the tour guide (in the case of an office tour) and to a Cascadia staff (in the case of the Open House tours).
- Help with either set-up or take-down (depending on the shift).
- Please
bring a cell phone if possible, as it may be required to call Cascadia
staff or other tour sites under some circumstances.
Time commitment: either 10:30 - 2:30 or 2 to 5:30. Volunteers will
participate in an orientation meeting (date to be determined).
Dress code: we ask that you wear “business casual” attire.
Building Docent (Tour Guide - for the Office Tours only)
- Lead at least 2 tours (approx 1 hour) in a building. **Docents must arrive 30 minutes before their first tour begins!
- Work with us, case study writers, and building design/operation teams to develop talking points (your own added personal “flare” is indeed welcome).
- If someone asks a question that you do not know the answer to, offer to get their name and email so we can send them an answer from someone who would know.
Time commitment: minimum 3 hours. Volunteers will participate in an orientation meeting (date to be determined).
