ENERGY AUDIT WITH GREEN HAMMER AND PCRI - LEADING UP TO A VOLUNTEER EVENT

For the project, Emerging Professionals volunteers will join PCRI staff and Andrew Morphis, Home Performance Division Manager for Green Hammer, to conduct home performance testing in one of PCRI’s affordable rental homes.  With the information gained from the testing, Emerging Professionals volunteers will implement efficiency upgrades and other refurbishments targeted to improve the efficiency, health and durability of the home on March 3rd.

For the event on the 13th testing will include blower door testing, infrared imaging, combustion appliance zone testing and more! This is your chance to see it done first hand, participate and ask questions. Space is limited so signing up early is a must.  If you have any questions please feel free to email communicationspdxep@gmail.com.

Next Meeting: February 7th, 2012 at 6:30pm

GREEN MIC NIGHT - GREEN RETROFITS AND VOLUNTEER PROJECT INTRO

The Green Mic Night topic of the evening will be Energy Retrofit Opportunities, testing / analysis procedures and the perspective of the building owner/occupant getting ready for a hands-on volunteer project in March.  The Green Mic Night is similar in concept to an Open Mic Night giving someone the floor to talk, but much more informal discussing around a table or two. Come ready to take the Green Mic and share your wisdom or learn from those who do! Those interested in reserving some time to talk at the event should respond to this email and let us know at:communicationspdxep@gmail.com.

Date:  2/7 Tuesday

Time: 6:30pm – 7:00pm +/-. Networking to follow

Location: Lucky Lab NW

Address: 1945 NW Quimby St. Portland OR

Who: You and anyone else interested in retrofits and hands-on volunteering!

Something exciting about this month’s Green Mic Night is that it will be a discussion preparing for a hands-on volunteer event coming up on March 3rd . On Saturday the 3rd Cascadia members can observe energy audit testing and analysis led by Green Hammer Construction on one of Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives properties. After watching the building tests and analysis, hands-on opportunities to complete the recommended energy retrofits will be provided to Cascadia volunteers like you!

Please let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you next Tuesday!

Next Meeting: December 6, 2011 at 5:30pm

Sustainable distillery/brewery tour

The Tour of Sustainable Breweries and Local Distilleries is this upcoming Tuesday! The night starts with an after hours EP exclusive free tasting and tour of Bull Run Distillery in their tasting room. From here we will saunter over a couple blocks to New Old Lompoc for a free tasting, this will also be your opportunity to buy dinner or snacks if your tummy is calling. The final stop will be at Clear Creek Distillery a few more blocks away for another private after hours EP free tasting and distillery tour. This will formally be the last stop, but it is predictable old and new friends may want to continue the evening patronizing other nearby eateries and bars.

This event is free of charge, no RSVP required, and it is open to all members / non members. Remember to bring cash to the Distilleries for your holiday shopping as they will have bottles for sale of the local delights we'll be sampling some of which were made from Oregon sourced organic apples.

Bull Run Distillery is easily accessible by street car or taking the bus line 15 or 77.
