Historic Green is a 10-day volunteer project led by young professional
and student volunteers to sustainably rebuild and repair the Holy
Cross Community of the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. This area is
one of the most devastated parts of New Orleans, and it has more than
80 registered historical homes. Historic Green is working to help
create the nation’s first zero-carbon community. Get hands-on
experience with sustainable design and preservation. Make a difference
to families in need. And help green a historical neighborhood on a
