Many times energy choices depend on costs and revenues that change or are intermittent over the life of a project, and simple payback is not the right tool. BLCC is an economic analysis tool originally developed for Federal projects, and is available at no charge in a spreadsheet form at www.doe2.com. This BSUG presentation will provide an introduction on how to use this tool, and the financial decision information that it can generate. Examples will be shared for a solar project with tax incentives over a number of years, and a simple efficiency project.
