What:    A discussion of the new ASHRAE 189 Standards for Sustainable Design.  In 2006, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the U.S.Green Building Council, and the Illuminating Society of North America, with the assistance of the AIA, embarked on a project to develop a model code that provides legal standards for high performance, green buildings that would apply to all buildings except low-rise residential buildings (Standard 189). The standard will address sustainable sites, water use efficiency, energy efficiency, the building’s impact on the atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. It is expected that the first draft of the model code will go out for public review and comment within the next month.
A no-host bar and light fare will be available immediately before the event.
