LEED® Canada-NC (New Construction) and LEED® Canada-CI (Commercial Interiors) are comprehensive,
voluntary, market-driven green building rating systems. They evaluate performance on a range of ecological and
human health issues from a whole building perspective, providing a definitive benchmark for what constitutes
a ‘green building.’

LEED certification is fast joining the lexicon of attributes that differentiates projects in the marketplace for
owners, tenants, and the growing number of communities now including sustainability in their current and
future planning. With a solid understanding of the certification process, contractors will be able to plan and
respond to this growing demand and meet client expectations by reducing the risk of errors, deficiencies, and
project over-runs.

This ½ day seminar introduces the LEED rating system and sustainable design issues that affect general and trade
contractors, manufacturers and suppliers. It provides tips on construction waste management, commissioning
green buildings, managing a sustainable construction site and what materials to choose and why.
