BuildingSMART Training Series
These informative sessions are designed for Oregon building trade professionals. Led by regional
experts, they will provide tips and tools for incorporating energy efficiency into residential new
construction.
Session Two: Radiant Heating
Hydronic radiant heating is an effective way to heat a home that is well constructed and insulated, and
it is a good alternative when duct space is limited and air conditioning is not needed. Systems can be
installed using a gas boiler, a tankless water heater, or even a conventional water heater. Heating efficiencies
approaching 95% are achieved with high efficiency boilers and condensing water heaters. This course will
cover proper design and installation of a radiant heating system.
