GROW 1000 Details, Installation and Maintenance; 6 weeks 18 hours; (18 core LUs)
Wed Jan 16 to Feb 20 1800 – 2100 and Wed Mar 05 to Apr 9 1800 - 2100
Cost: $250
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
• Explain how a green roof works and its benefits, identify principal components, and review different roofing assemblies.
• Evaluate green roof feasibility options, key design details and construction considerations.
• Propose the most appropriate green roof design to match design purpose, environmental mandate, and site/climatic conditions.
• Understand properties of growing media, plant selection criteria and establishment requirements.
• Develop a project installation timeline and create establishment and long term maintenance plans.
