Topic: Users’ Comparison of eQuest, TRACE700 and VisualDOE.
Speakers: Andrew Craig – Interface; Mitch Dec – Glumac; Mark Denyer – MFIA
The emphasis is on USERS. The three programs are those most commonly used by the membership. A panel of three engineers will lead the discussion of the software.
eQuest – Andrew Craig - Interface
TRACE700 – Mark Denyer - MFIA
VisualDOE – Mitch Dec – Glumac
A five to ten minute overview of the energy modeling aspects of the programs will be followed by a discussion of the differences based upon input from the membership.
Some possible areas of comparison and discussion:
What can one program do that another cannot (e.g., equipment sizing)
Variation in results for the same building
How geometry and systems are input
How alternatives are run and compared
What systems are not available in a given program
Why would a particular program be selected
Areas of comparison will be based upon responses from the membership to a request for input.
All that enrolled members need to do is to click on the link (http://www.energytrust.org/bsug), enter their email address, preferences and finally click on register.
Other interested people should follow the same steps and complete the enrollment form on the page.
Questions may be forwarded to earlljohnson@comcast.net
