Green Rehabilitation and Sustainability Forum - Kelowna

A forum and workshop for Building Practitioners to examine the connect/disconnect between green building rating systems, the Standards & Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada and the new BC green building code.

  A "nuts & bolts" discussion by professionals directly involved in implementing historic building rehabilitation projects that meet building code, green building rating systems, and historic rehabilitation standards.

Let’s apply what we learned today using a real historic rehab project. A preservation consultant will provide us with the historic context of a local building(s).  A facilitator will then provide information about what to expect during Tuesday’s session.

Orientation for Field Exercise
  The Facilitator will provide an introduction and instructions for the field exercise at the historic building (tbc).  During this exercise, participants will tour the building with the Developer, identify issues, and formulate appropriate responses for the rehabilitation to meet building codes, green building rating systems, and the Standards & Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada.  Attendees will meet team leaders who will be assisting in the exercise.
