Lumen is actively working to be certified under the Built Green pilot program for multi-family projects.  A list of target green initiatives include:

·         Remote control and monitoring of boilers and geothermal system by third party will increase efficiency by idling system during off-peak hours and alert if not operating at capacity
·         Motion sensing lights in the parkade
·         Painted parkade reduces light use
·         Recycled (post industrial) content in steel studs and concrete
·         Vertical exterior shading to reduce solar exposure
·         Durable concrete construction
·         Drought tolerant landscaping
·         Major building components are manufactured within 800km
·         Provisions for electrical cars and bicycles
·         Geothermal preheats hotwater
·         Reduced external lighting and low-consumption compact fluorescent fixtures in common areas
·         Non-solvent based damproofing
·         Recycled content in corridor carpets
·         Designated recycling areas
·         25% of construction waste designated for recycling
