The new Green BC Building Code has been in force since September 2008.  All new buildings in British Columbia now require low flow plumbing fixtures, as well as energy performance compliance to meet ASHRAE 90.1-2004 Energy Standards.  The energy performance requirements have significant impacts on architectural, mechanical, and electrical designers.  This seminar will serve to outline these major changes, and then explain with examples how Building Projects will be affected by the energy performance requirements.  The HVAC system fundamentals of building envelope thermal performance will be reviewed, with examples and technical issues required to comply to the ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Performance standard.  This seminar is not intended to be a detailed ASHRAE 90.1 compliance course, but to provide a background of the fundamentals of HVAC calculations and building design approaches required to understand the new energy performance requirements.
