Construction Waste Management in Portland
Wendy Gibson and Chuck Halling will present on the topic of Construction Waste Management in the Portland area. Waste diversion reporting methods are coming under increasing scrutiny by the USGBC and recent Credit Interpretation Rulings have clarified expectations. Wendy and Chuck will explain the issues behind the scrutiny. Joining them will be Preston Browning, Construction Waste Specialist for the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, and Bryce Jacobson, Senior Planner, Metro Solid Waste and Recycling, who will speak on what Metro and the City of Portland are doing to help increase recycling rates both from the MRF stand point and City policy.
The Portland LEED User's Group (PLUG) meets on the second Thursday of every month from 12:00 - 1:30 pm, to discuss topics related to the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System. Attendees of these meetings represent many disciplines within Portland's green building community, and new attendees are always is welcome.
