Green building has gone from fringe to commonplace; and some communities
would like to see green become standard. Green building's earliest adopters
are now looking beyond simply green to sustainable. Come to this networking
event and panel discussion to find out what is being done at all levels to
make building sustainably easy for anyone.
Gina Franzosa, Cascadia's Oregon Director, will talk about a recently
completed study of code and regulatory barriers to Living Buildings and how to overcome them.
Following Gina, a panel of related experts will discuss their projects and open the floor to questions and discussion. The panel will be facilitated by the HBA's Building Green Council Vice-Chair, Mike Arnett of Lifestyle Homes.
This event is the Quarterly Portland Branch General Meeting and is presented
in partnership with the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland's
Building Green Council.
The event will kick-off the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan
Portland's 2009 NW Natural Street of Dreams for Green Week August 12-16th.
Join us to see new faces, make new contacts in the industry and learn ways
you can incorporate additional shades of green into your next project.
