Topic: Solar Domestic Hot Water Systems for Commercial Buildings

Solar domestic hot water (DHW) systems are becoming more significant in the continuing impetus to increase the sustainability of commercial buildings. The following will be addressed in the discussion and is based upon direct experience:
- System configuration and tie-in to backup DHW systems.
- Sizing of solar DHW systems (storage, number of panels, etc.).
- Design constraints, including those for large arrays.
- Use of FCHART and RETScreen simulation tools.
- A comparison of the results obtained from FCHART and RETScreen
- Lessons learned
- Incentives and credits
