"DIY Building Using Cob and Salvaged Materials"

Clare Kenny, Mudgirl Collective
The Mudgirls Natural Building Collective presents a slideshow and discussion about do-it-yourself building using cob and salvaged materials. Topics will include an introduction to natural building philosophy and principles, with a focus on the benefits of building with cob.
Bio - Clare is a member of the Mudgirls, a non-profit women’s natural building collective. Over the past three seasons the Mudgirls have established a working model of building that uses unprocessed, recycled and site-based materials including cob, cordwood, and post and beam. They work for hire and also facilitate regular workshops that highlight bartering, work exchange, skill sharing and self-propelled sustainable building practices in the sculpting of homes, studios, sheds, cob ovens, and outhouses. Clare is currently building a home with her partner Alex using dry rock foundation, post-and beam, cob and other hybrid models.
