How to Grow a Roof: Green Roof Function, Design & Installation, Presenter: Patrick Carey
One of the hottest concepts in green building today is the green or vegetated roof. Please join us this month as Patrick Carey, one of the leading experts in this field, presents to ELUG. We will discuss the factors behind the growing green roof trend and the design and installation methods that are best suited to our region.
Patrick Carey is a principal of Hadj Design and has been researching and experimenting with green roofs, living walls, and other forms of biophilic design since 2000. As director of the Northwest EcoBuilding Guild’s Green Roof Project, he designed and installed 20 experimental green roofs in the Puget Sound area. His firm has designed an additional 55 commercial and residential green roofs, featuring a wide range of assembly types and climate zones. His work has won the King County Environmental Hero Award, an A.I.A. Environmental Award, and a Seattle Livability Award.
We hope to see you there!
