Topic: Towards a Language of Integrated Design
Speaker: John Breshears, Principal, ZGF Architects
Description:
John Breshears will present experiences and thoughts on successful integrated design, including the articulation of a deliberate and conscious relationship between design and analysis within the entire design team, framing relevant questions at the appropriate time, incorporating intuition, and creating responses that are useful, understandable, and applicable. Examples will illustrate the use of simulation tools in both conventional and some fairly unconventional ways. Some less well-known but useful tools will also be discussed.
John is both an architect and mechanical engineer. As a Principal at ZGF Architects, he devotes his efforts to nurturing ever better-integrated designs whose elegance derives not only from their aesthetics but also their performance.
