Exterior Lighting: The Green Way
We all know exterior lighting can contribute to the overall safety and security of persons and property, but quality exterior lighting can also create a dynamic nighttime environment, while minimizing both light trespass and light pollution. This month, Jeff Robbins from Lighting Design Lab will provide insight on the issues and concepts behind successful site lighting, including: parking areas, walkways, entrances, canopies, and building facades. In addition, methods for achieving LEED Site Credit 8, and meeting the 2007 ASHRAE/IESNA 90.1 Addenda i, will be discussed.
Jeff Robbins spent many years as a theatrical lighting designer before accepting a position as Consulting Stage Technician at the Lighting Design Lab in 1989, staying there until 1995. He then began his career as an architectural lighting designer, designing more than 40 projects both here and abroad before rejoining the staff at the Lab in 2008 as a Commercial Lighting Specialist. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Cornish College of the Arts, sits on the Board the Puget Sound Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, (IES), and serves as co-chairman of the Testing Committee of the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions, (NCQLP).
We hope to see you there!
