The kick off to the 2009 Petal Series!

Cascadia's Research Director Eden Brukman will illuminate the requirements of the Living Building Challenge, putting them into the context of actual projects vying for certification.

About Eden
An architect, LEED-AP and sustainable building advisor, Eden has focused her professional career on incorporating socially and environmentally responsible strategies into design and construction.  Over the last ten years, she has worked on more than twenty projects that are in-process or certified by the LEED rating system.  Since 2004, her work expanded to also include research and implementation of sustainable policies, particularly related to the selection of appropriate building materials. Eden now devotes her time to the ongoing development and implementation of the Living Building Challenge and the Pharos Project.

About the Petal Series
Each year, EGB | PDX presents the Petal Series in conjunction with the Natural Talent Design Competition.  This year's competition asks emerging green builders to explore the intersection of Living Buildings, transportation and community.  For more information about the competition and to register: www.cascadiagbc.org/emerging-green-builders/NTDC09.

The EGB | PDX General Meeting will take place after this lecture.  A brief update on EGB activities will precede the lecture.
