The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) will be conducting a one-day conference about building a profitable vegetative roof systems business. “Vegetative Roof Systems for Roofing Contractors: Your Rewards, Responsibilities and Risks”,  is contractor-focused, but designed for anyone interested in properly designing, installing and maintaining vegetative roof systems.

Program topics will include the economic and environmental benefits of vegetative roof systems; proper design and installation; waterproofing requirements and construction details; growth media and plant selection and building and energy code compliance. In addition, the program identifies roofing contractors’ responsibilities, as well as clarifies the functions and duties of the other related trades, to ensure success throughout the service life of a vegetative roof system.
 
The program offers a unique opportunity to interact with some of the roofing industry’s most respected technical experts, including NRCA’s Mark Graham and James Kirby; Kelly Luckett, LEED AP, president of Saint Louis Metalworks Co. and Green Roof Blocks, Florissant, Mo.; and Elizabeth Grant from Virginia Tech.
A complimentary copy of The NRCA Green Roof Systems Manual will be distributed to attendees and will serve as the program’s technical basis.
