Topic: CFD in the Built Environment
Speaker: Andrew C. Craig, EIT, LEED AP
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has been practiced for over thirty years but has gained momentum in the field of building engineering and design in the last ten years. With sustainable projects using systems outside of the comfort range of many owners and clients, CFD is being used more and more to validate comfort and performance parameters. This presentation will start from the ground up, showing how a modeling subject is identified, how the model is created and simulated and finally how the results are analyzed. Several case studies will be examined of primarily office and school space types. These projects have utilized displacement ventilation, radiant heating/cooling among other ‘green’ HVAC systems.
All that enrolled members need to do to register for this event is to click on the link (http://www.energytrust.org/bsug), enter their email address, preferences and finally click on register.
Other interested people should follow the same steps and complete the enrollment form which will appear at the bottom of the page.
