This workshop is a panel discussion on Integrated Design Process (IDP) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) challenges and opportunities, with food & drink!   

Speakers:

Kathleen O’Brien, O’Brien & Company, Green Building Consultant -Moderator

Founder of O’Brien & Company, Kathleen is a nationally recognized leader in the field of sustainability,having been in the field as a writer, educator, strategic planner, and project consultant for 25 years. Kathleen acted as faculty for several Cascadia IDP workshops delivered in 2008, and has facilitateddozens of project planning processes.

Jason Morrow, Footprint Developments, Developer - Panelist

Jason Morrow is founder and managing partner of Footprint Developments and Footprint Realty. Footprint Developments’ focus is on urban infill high performance modern green housing. All its recentprojects have been designed to LEED Platinum standards. Jason was a 2007-2009 member of the SeattleDesign Review Board (Capitol Hill) and is a current member of the Greenwood Community Council Land Use Committee.

Olivier A. Pennetier, Ecotect, IDP/BIM - Panelist

As founder of Symphysis, Olivier Pennetier has been consulting for architects around San Francisco Bay Area, providing bioclimatic design solutions, site and climate analyses. He has also been conducting training workshops throughout the country for the building performance analysis software Ecotect™since 2006. Olivier holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Humboldt State University and a Master in Architecture from the University of Hawaii. He has been a LEED accredited professional since 2003.

Dace Campbell, BNBuilders, Contractor - Panelist

Dace Campbell, AIA, LEED AP, is an Integrated Delivery Specialist with BNBuilders, where he manages the implementation of new processes (Integrated Project Delivery) and associated technologies (BIM) to support collaborative, efficient design and construction. Dace is a licensed architect with over 20 years experience in design, construction, and computer visualization. His work has won two AIA BIM awards, and he represents the construction industry on the Board of Directors of the  BuilldingSMARTalliance.

Jay Martin, Miller-Hull, Architect - Panelist

Jay Martin is a project architect at The Miller|Hull Partnership. Jay is a LEED Accredited Professional and has been an instrumental member of the integrated design team for the LOTT Alliance facility in Olympia, WA. He is also an advocate and leader in the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and performance-based design tools into the design process. Jay holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon and pursued undergraduate work at Harvard College.

John Heller, Ecotope, Engineer - Panelist

Jonathan Heller at Ecotope since 1986 provides design, research, and consulting on energy and resource efficiency in buildings. His research work provides the technical basis for development of regional energy codes and energy conservation programs. He specializes in innovative mechanical systems, passive solar, super insulation, heat recovery, rainwater harvesting, and alternative energy systems.
