The Partnership’s Low Impact Development Technical Assistance Project:

Helping LID Move Forward in the Puget Sound Region

BRUCE WULKAN, STORMWATER PROGRAM MANAGER | PUGET SOUND PARTNERSHIP

The use of the Low Impact Development (LID) approaches and techniques is rapidly increasing in the Puget Sound region. This is because the LID techniques, when properly sited, designed, constructed and maintained, oer cost-effective, efficient
means of managing stormwater runoff. Bruce will present on the Partnership’s LID Technical Assistance Project, which provides low cost professional training through WSU Extension, free local code assistance through AHBL, and several other services.

Low Impact Development Implementation in Olympia: Current Practices

This presentation features current Low Impact Development (LID) practices being implemented in Olympia, examines the range of LID Best Management Practices (BMPs) in use, and highlights projects in which BMPs are being implemented. Various LID project successes and failures will be presented. The presentation will conclude with the key factors for successful implementation of a LID project.

Washington State Legislative Update

STUART SIMPSON, CEM, LEED AP, GREEN BUILDING ADVISOR| WASHINGTON STATE DEPT. OF GENERAL ADMINISTRATION
The Washington State Legislature passed bills this session regarding Green Building and Energy Eciency. Stuart will give an update on these bills. He will also provide an update on the Federal Stimulus bill.
