Solar is HOT! How Solar Energy Works In Our Marketplace
With rising energy prices, energy security questions, and pending climate change legislation at the federal and state levels, it’s no wonder that there is significant interest and investment in renewable energy sources as viable alternatives. Solar energy is one great solution to today’s energy problems, particularly in areas such as the southwestern US, but how effective is this technology in our climate? What are some of the new trends in solar production and application, and what are the best practices and efficiency results that users are reporting in our marketplace?
Local expert Reeves Clippard will join us for a discussion on this topic. In his presentation, Reeves will address the application of solar technologies here in the Pacific Northwest. He will discuss each of the main technologies: electric and thermal and provide insight on design considerations, incentives, and the costs of these systems. Reeves will also be sharing with us a few key features from past projects.
We hope you will join us!
Reeves Clippard, NABCEP PV
Reeves is co-founder of Seattle's first employee owned solar company A&R Solar. Originally trained at Solar Energy International, he has installed over 150 solar energy systems in the Pacific Northwest since 2005. Recent and current projects include: the Seattle Aquarium; the Issaquah, Renton, and Snoqualmie Valley School Districts; Nucor Steel's West Seattle Facility; and the Zero Energy Idea House in Bellevue.
