The Seattle Living Building Collective: Creating a Living Classroom

The Seattle Living Building Collective consists of a group of professionals spanning architectural, landscape, civil, geotechnical, structural, sustainability, public relations, construction and jurisdictional fields and disciplines.  The group formed with the vision of finding a project where they could offer their services for free in order to see a Living Building from early design through construction.  What they found was a school – already committed to and practicing sustainability in both their buildings and their curriculum – in need of a new science classroom.  Learn about the organic growth of this group and their goals for the Living Science Classroom, as well as discuss the unique challenges and opportunities of the Living Building Challenge.
