Join us for a noon-hour case study on the Southeast False Creek Athletes Village, followed by a site tour after work.  Learn from peers, share your experiences and grow your understanding of green building practice in British Columbia.

Southeast False Creek Athletes Village
All residential buildings in this 1.4 million square foot facility were designed to LEED Gold standards. The Community Centre was designed to LEED Platinum. The facility uses a 'Neigbourhood Energy Utility' that recovers heat from an adjacent sewer line, to provide about 60% of the space heating for the village; the first application of this technology in North America. The seniors' housing building will attempt to reach the Net-Zero standard, which represents annual water, energy and carbon neutrality. The ceiling-mounted radiant capillary heating, the largest installation of its kind in North America, focuses on passive design strategies.
