Monthly meetings for practitioners who want to learn about and discuss more in-depth any issues pertaining to the Living Building Challenge
This month's topic is Energy: Advancing the energy conversation.
After an examination of the requirements to achieve the Energy petal of the Living Building Challenge, several speakers will discuss their strategies for attaining net zero energy on an annual basis. The meeting will conclude with case studies of how three Living Building projects are fulfilling the energy requirements of the Challenge.
Van Dusen Botanical Gardens: A member of the engineering team from Cobalt Engineering will talk about how the Botanical Gardens revitalization is pursuing net zero energy.
Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS): A member of the Stantec Consulting team will talk about how this project aims to reduce its energy footprint and that of a nearby building.
The Robert Bateman Centre for Art and the Environment: A member of the project team from Cobalt Engineering will discuss how this project aims to meet the goals of the Living Building Challenge energy prerequisite.
