The American Institute of Architects Portland, in conjunction with Portland State University’s Department of Architecture and in support of Portland Public Schools, will be hosting a Symposium that looks at the growing role of the citizen architect. This movement redefines the traditional practice of architecture to include tangible service to the public good. Meet the visionary leaders of this shift, take part in discussions with other community-minded designers and be an activist; if only for a day. Presentations and forums will conclude with a group design Charrette to address one of the real needs in Portland’s schools.
