The Seattle Architecture Foundation and the Seattle Branch of Cascadia Green Building Council are sponsoring a lunchtime hard hat tour showcasing Bastyr University’s new Student Village, targeting LEED for Homes certification. The project is currently positioned to achieve Gold-level certification and is taking strides to achieve Platinum.

Currently under construction and set to open for student residents in summer 2010, the village consists of 11 three-story buildings housing 12 students each, each designed to be green-built, LEED-certified and ADA-compliant. The project also features sustainable site design and unique approaches to energy efficiency.

Come join the designer and owner for a midday tour of an active construction site for a progressive green project to see how things are done from the ground-up. Tour will include a visit to one completed cottage. Because this is an active construction site, space is very limited.

*Hard hat and safety goggles will be provided. Please wear closed toed, thick soled shoes to participate in tour
