Join us for a tour of Eugene Water & Electric Board’s new operations facility at the southeast corner of Roosevelt Boulevard and Beltline Road in west Eugene. The new facility is on track to achieve LEED Gold certification, and is expected to be at least 35% more energy efficient than current code standards. The new facility will include the main electric and water operations center, warehouse, vehicle shop, vehicle storage and materials storage yard. Some of the facility’s sustainable features include:
- Solar hot water heating
- Substantial use of day lighting from windows and skylights
- Enhanced building insulation
- Bio-swales to treat much of the site storm water
- An eco-machine for on-site sanitary treatment producing water that will be used to flush toilets
