The Seattle Architecture Foundation and the Seattle Branch of Cascadia Green Building Council are sponsoring a midday tour showcasing the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, a partnership between City of Bellevue and Pacific Science Center.
Completed in October 2008, Phase I of the MSEEC complex features classrooms, a visitor center, a community building, and a “tree house”. This facility functions to support the Mercer Slough Nature Park and was designed to have minimal impact on the environment. Green Building features include pervious concrete, green roofs, and catchment ponds as well as renewable and local materials. The facility has received LEED Gold certification.
Come join City of Bellevue Parks Deparment Project Manager as well as MSEEC Environmental Program Coordinator for a midday tour of this interactive site. Main tour program will be 12pm – 1pm with Q&A for those who wish to stay until 1:30pm. MSEEC is located in South Bellevue just off I-90.
Tickets available at:
$15 Cascadia Individual Members
$20 Non-members
