Description:
Methane generation has been utilized as a renewable energy source for many years.  This discussion will present a large, central project at Oregon’s largest dairy farm developed by NW Natural.  The major points to be addressed are:

  • Why is NW Natural involved
  • Why is it important
  • How does the process work
  • How much does it cost
  • What are the available technologies  
  • What is the output of the process
  • How is the gas processed prior to use
  • Feedstock source
  • What the plant does for carbon emissions
  • Lessons learned
  • Next steps

 
The plant is in operation and there will be a discussion of the lessons learned and the next steps in the development of the process.
