Many of us grew up watching science fiction movies that depicted our current century – they usually involved flying or electric cars. While flying cars may still be a ways off, all-electric cars are here. While once relegated to limited function and fringe markets, electric vehicles have come a long way. They are now a viable choice for many consumers and have even made their way into production by major automobile manufacturers, such as GM and Nissan. As they work their way into the mainstream, their presence presents a challenge to facility and energy managers.
Oregon Association of Professional Energy Manager’s Fall Forum, Cruise into the Energy Future with Electric Vehicles, is intended to offer insight into this burgeoning technology. Industry experts* will sort out fact from science fiction and help us welcome the challenges presented to the energy management industry by this technology.
