TEGA COMMITTEE - TECHNICAL ENERGY AND GOVERNMENT ACTIVIES

It is time to begin the technical presentations. The month of October brings us a presentation on Ventilation in Surgical Suites and Intervention Rooms.

Kevin Schreiber of Huntair, Inc. will discuss how critical the ventilation system is in preventing Hospital Acquired Infections. He will explain the ASHRAE and CDC recognized Laminar Air Flow systems as a means of reducing sepsis in hospital patients. He will also explain how a modular laminar flow system can be a cost and time effective solution to hospital infection issues.

HAI’s, “Hospital Acquired Infections”, are responsible for over 99,000 deaths each year at a cost to the Healthcare industry of over 30 Billion dollars per year (in the United States alone). The Federal government is requiring all Hospitals to submit a plan for the reduction of these infections by this year (2010).
