4:00 pm: Saint Martin’s University Engineering Building – LEED Platinum Case Study by McGranahan Architects

This new 3-story 26,000 sf facility is targeting LEED Platinum Certification with pragmatic energy-saving systems including ground source heat exchanger, rooftop photovoltaic and radiant floor systems.  Currently under construction, the project will incorporate building learning tools that exhibit systems relevant to both civil and mechanical engineering programs.  Construction is scheduled to be completed this Fall, 2012.  The Tech Talk will discuss the energy-efficient, cost-effective systems incorporated into this local LEED Platinum facility.

 7:15 pm - Energy Efficient Building Design from an Engineer’s Perspective by BCE Engineers

BCE will discuss building insulation requirements, Energy efficient HVAC systems (induction, geo-thermo systems) and
photovoltaic payback.
