W03: Water treatment and reuse

Current modes of wastewater treatment rely on chemical and energy intensive forms of treatment, resulting in unnecessary resource use and simply displacing environmental issues downstream. By harnessing natural processes for both storm and wastewater management, buildings can dramatically reduce their environmental impact and restore natural hydrology. Topics covered include:

  • Onsite wastewater treatment/reuse
  • Non-chemical treatment approaches
  • Scale jumping with water treatment and reuse
  • Code issues with on site water treatment and reuse
