Moving Others to Action: Effectively Igniting People’s Vision to Achieve the Unimaginable

Presenters:

Paul Werder, CEO, Lionheart Consulting, Inc., Portland, OR

Patsy Feeman, Principal, Feeman Consulting, Inc., Portland, OR

Regina Hauser, Executive Director, The Natural Step Network, Portland, OR

Seeking solutions to our most daunting global issues requires leading minds to use more than knowledge. It requires leaders at all levels of our organizations to become change agents who can mobilize groups of people to achieve the unimaginable in the built environment. Leaders need to influence others who have not yet realized the urgency and advantages of adopting green practices. This is best done by developing the sensitivity to elicit their visions instead of activating their objections, and inspiring these new partners to their highest course of action. Our capacity to impact our environmental and social crisis relies on our ability to not withhold our inspired passion and to communicate our ideas more effectively.

Our learning objectives and benefits:

  • We will teach a six-step process that participants can use to speak to the needs of others while engaging them in their contribution to a living future.
  • Each participant will imagine what their personal contribution to a living future could be if they daringly learn to influence others.
  • Each participant will identify and commit to their next steps in moving someone in their work environment to pursue unimaginable change.
  • Participants will experience how exhilarating it feels to begin to ignite others' passion for contribution.
