The recent history of the lower Duwamish River valley and its diverse neighborhoods shows the power of community to blossom from a Superfund past.  The South Park tour will visit Superfund sites that are once again home to salmon and heron, and historic Marra farm that nourishes vegetable starts for food banks, neighborhood youth and families.  Hear about the struggles, lessons learned, and ongoing campaigns to re-value this south Seattle community.  South Park is 20 minutes south of downtown Seattle; we will travel there from the Westin by tour bus.
