“The Greenest Building”: A Film and Workshop to Explore Building Reuse
Jane Turville, Writer, Director, Producer
Moderator:
Regina Hauser, The Natural Step Network US
The documentary film “The Greenest Building” demonstrates how renovation and adaptive reuse of existing structures fully achieves the sustainability movement’s “triple bottom line” - economic, social, and ecological balance. After viewing the film, participants will use Natural Step methodology and an ordinary empty building from their community (former grocery store, retail front, etc) to explore the role of existing built fabric in a “Restorative Civilization.” This session is open to anyone interested in a stronger understanding of the connection between reuse of buildings and triple bottom line sustainability.
