San Francisco’s Transbay Transit Center: Rail Use Meets Water Reuse

Presenters:

Claire Maxfield, Associate Director, Atelier Ten

Raphael Garcia, Senior Project Manager, Rana Creek

Adam Greenspan, Partner, Peter Walker and Partners

Transbay Transit Center will be one of the largest and most sustainable mass transit developments in California. Community-oriented, it will revitalize state and local mass transit, feature expansive green spaces, and encourage interaction/recreation for locals and visitors.
Moreover, it represents the City’s commitment to large-scale water conservation. A comprehensive water reduction and reuse system is a signature feature, reducing wholebuilding use by 60%. This session will illustrate how innovative and pragmatic strategies in architecture, landscape design, and mechanical systems work together to conserve and reuse on a large scale. This session is for all attendees; no prerequisite knowledge necessary.
