Cascadia Board of Director Nominations, Page Two

The application procedure is a two-step process:

1)  In the first step, interested applicants will submit a completed Board Candidate Qualifications Questionnaire (see information at the end of this page), review associated documentation (click here to read The Cascadia Principles, click here to read the Conflict of Interest Policy, click here to view the Conflict of Interest Form, click here to view the Time, Treasure, and Talent Policy), and a submit a list of three professional references to the Nominating Committee.  This information should be submitted electronically on or before March 18, 2007.

The committee will review all applications and will notify applicants that successfully meet Board requirements and support the mission of Cascadia that they may stand for election to the Board of Cascadia on or before March 27, 2007.

2)  In the second step, the successful candidates will stand for election by the Cascadia Membership at large.

The Nominating Committee will post the applicants’ responses to Part One of the Board Candidate Qualifications Questionnaire on the www.cascadiagbc.org website for the benefit of the voters. This document will form the basis of membership selection of successful candidates.  No other campaigning is allowed on the part of candidates to the Board.

All individual members of Cascadia are eligible to vote.  The online voting period is from March 28, 2007 to April 10, 2007. The winning candidates will be notified by email and by telephone on or before April 18, 2007 and will be expected to attend the Board meeting scheduled for April 27, 2007. The election results will be announced at the Living Future Conference on April 27, 2007.

Open Board Positions and Allocation of Board Positions:

Board seats are allocated specifically across the two states and one province that make up Cascadia.  A total of 6 seats are allocated to each state/province.  To promote representation on the Board from all geographic regions and in both large and small markets, one seat from each state/province is reserved for Cascadia members from small/emerging markets.  Only members from these markets (based on place of employment) may stand for election to these three seats, although all members may vote for these candidates.  The identification of small and emerging markets for each state/province is defined in the table below.

No company/organization within Cascadia may have more than one representative serve on the Board concurrently.  Should two members of any one organization be elected to the Board simultaneously, the candidate with the most votes of the two will serve, regardless of the vote count relative to other candidates.  Candidates from companies/organizations already represented on the Board will not be allowed to stand for election until the affected Board member is up for election or leaves the Board.
